When you hear names like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and former N'SYNC'ers Justin Timberlake and J.C. Chasez, you think: 'The All-New MMC' - the famous Disney show where many of this generation's superstars got their start.
You may also recall headline-grabbing controversies that sometimes accompany Mickey Mouse Club ex-mice celebrities. However, for one multi-talented ex-mouse -- actress-singer Jennifer McGill -- life is literally the cat's meow and success goes hand-in-hand with the ability to keep learning.
"One thing I have learned since the MMC and right through college and beyond is that YOU NEVER STOP LEARNING!" Jennifer tells CyberSpacers in this exclusive interview. "Or at least, there is always something else to learn. But the secret is, you have to choose to learn it."
You'd think starting as a professional performer at age 10 (and being only 1-of-3 "mice" to appear through all six seasons on the MMC, '89-'94)) plus four years studying musical theater at New York University would give anybody enough knowledge to last a lifetime. But think again. Jennifer McGill explains:
"Every job I've had since I graduated college (in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts) has presented a different challenge. There's been musical theater, dinner theaters, concert-style musicals, a capella groups, live bands, recording sessions, solos, backup vocals, songwriting, TV acting, theatrical acting, public speaking, teaching private voice lessons, and more.
"The combinations are endless in performance art, and I continue to find various ways to challenge my voice and other abilities in my performing. And through those challenges I continue to grow as a person, and as a performer.
