One of the buildings in the 15-acre complex is a fully stocked recording studio, including a drum set. Besides drums Aaron plays piano, guitar and saxophone. When he's not inside the studio laying down tracks for his new CD due out at the end of 2003, Aaron can be found in the water, doing somersaults on his trampoline, playing his drums for fun, or tooling around the property on one of his motorcycles. A certified scuba diver since age eight, he loves the sea and regularly sails. The family has 10 boats.

The Carter’s pool is inviting, and the scene of get-togethers with family and friends. "We keep the pool set at about 60 degrees," Aaron says, "but the heat outside warms it up to about 80."
An outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Aaron also enjoys camping on neighboring islands, fishing, and jet skiing in the blue waters of the Atlantic . However, one time when he was quite young, Aaron sank to his waist in quicksand in the Florida swamps. Luckily, he was saved by family members.

When he's not with his family, Aaron can be found in his own private section on the phone, talking with his girlfriend, actress Hilary Duff, who lives in L.A. Aaron appeared as himself in Aaron Carter's Coming to Town on Hilary’s show, Lizzie McGuire. (He’s also appeared on Star Search, Today, Wild & Crazy Kids, The Early Show, 48Hours, All That, The Maury Povich Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and Mad TV.)
