'GOOD' HACKERS vs. CYBER-TERRORISTS!

CYBERSPACE, 2002 (D.O.T.) - Since the WTC towers came crashing down on 9-11, unfortunately, cyber-crime has been on the rise. The attack on America has triggered an increasing amount of cyber-criminal activity - many of these crimes being committed in the name of national security -- by hackers with good intentions.

In reality, hackers and others who wear the 9-11 crisis as a shield to justify their illegal activities are not helping to safeguard the U.S.A., liberty or freedom - and in fact - may accidentally be aiding the enemy to destroy it.

GOOD HACKERS -- PLEASE DO NOT STRIKE! Your actions can harm America and its allies. Pakistan, a prime example, has joined America to combat terrorism. Hacking, defacing or otherwise attacking Islamic-related sites in Pakistan may damage the delicate relations between our countries - and thus help the cause of the terrorists.

If you are young, love freedom and democracy, and have high-level computer skills - think before you act. This is not the Wild West where everyone carries a gun and implements justice by pulling the trigger - or by typing in commands on a keyboard. Cyber-crime committed in the name of patriotism is still a crime and a threat to the security of the free world. Hacking, denial of service and other criminal activities could damage America's systems while it is being used to defend liberty against its enemies.
GOOD HACKERS - PLEASE DO NOT STRIKE!

Besides good-intentioned hackers with bad judgment, there is also a rise in cyber-criminal activity for greed, for personal financial gain. These enemies of America look to take advantage of the uncertainties of America's financial systems and exploit the U.S. at the expense of our national security.

Cyber-Terrorists are already hard at work to control or destroy the Worldwide Web. Their crimes are well defined -- designed to achieve loss of property and even life in the name of political or religious goals. If the terrorists see that America's security systems have been impaired, their heinous job will be made that much easier.
GOOD HACKERS - PLEASE DO NOT STRIKE!

International Cyber-Terrorists may also be waiting to strike in response to U.S. and allied military campaigns. The infrastructure of our programming systems is in danger, as well as our financial institutions and other organizations doing business with America and her allies. We must protect our utility companies across America, the international lines of telecommunication, and online trading and e-commerce associations.

Make no mistake about it - we are in a Cyber-War! Cyber-security plans and procedures are in place and are being fortified. President Bush, all allied leaders and their nations are prepared to defend against cyber-assaults aimed to disrupt our ability to communicate and to cripple our relief efforts during any other physical attacks.

Cyberspacers of America and the free world can help thwart Cyber-Terrorism.
PLEASE, GOOD HACKERS -- DO NOT STRIKE!
